Hi! I'm ZAIRA CAROLINA DUARTE
Zaira Carolina Duarte Fandino Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), began her studies in her hometown, Barranquilla, Colombia graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Juris Doctor. She arrived in Miami in 1999 and began working as an International Attorney with her main office in Colombia and for an international network with different Latin American Attorney Firms.
She became engaged in 2015 and married in 2017, her wife is mother to an autistic child. During this time and knowing that having a special child at home is very difficult, she decided to take a different career path in order to help children with various disabilities. She went on to pursue her Master’s degree in Psychology, followed by obtaining her board certification for behavior analysis. She also has experience in tutoring one on one in varios subjects.
Hi! I'm Vanina Noguera
Vanina Noguera, Nico’s mother, was also born in Barranquilla, Colombia. She has 3 children, and Nico is the youngest. When Nico was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder at 2 years old, Vanina’s world fell apart, but she knew that she needed to begin a new path in her life and it was to learn about this diagnosis in order to give Nico the best opportunities available. Being the head of the family with this difficult situation, she decided to try different therapies for her son. When Nico was 7 years old, she reunited again with her school friend, now her wife. During this period of her life, she was alone, she had no immigration documents and was taking care of her children without any type of support, therefore requiring long work shifts including nights in order to maintain the family. Once she began dating Zaira, they started to provide Nico ABA Therapy and Nico’s progress did not wait. The words that Vanina wants to say to this small Autistic world is: Parents, you are not alone, we are here to help and support you.
